Take a little peek at what is inside the pages of Caitlin Clark and the Revolution in Women’s Basketball.
“A team must play badly to earn the No. 1 draft pick in a sport. Qualifying for a shot at the potential top rookie requires losing a lot, early and often, and the Indiana Fever were in a multi-year slump entering the April 15, 2024 WNBA draft.
“Despite Indiana being the hotbed of basketball, from the heartlands to the cities, when the WNBA was founded in 1996 and made its debut in 1997 as a sister association to the NBA, no Hoosier team was included on the list of franchises.
“The Fever was added as an expansion team in 2000 making the 2024 season the organizations 25th anniversary, a timely celebration coincident with the developments of the team.
“Caitlin Clark dribbled into her destiny at the right juncture in history.”
