Karuna Eberl has lived and worked in the Florida Keys, writing for local and national publications, with an emphasis on nature, sustainability, history, and diversity. She has won multiple awards for her nature writing from the Outdoor Writers Association of America, the Society of American Travel Writers, and the Florida Outdoor Writers Association. Her credits include the BBC, National Parks Conservation Association, Atlas Obscura, Thrillist, Readers Digest, Family Handyman, Keys Weekly, FloridaRambler.com, and others. She has co-authored two editions of the award-winning Quixotic Key West & the Lower Keys Travel Guide. She has also produced a dozen indie films, produced and written for TV series on networks including National Geographic and the Discovery Channel, and directed the award-winning documentary The Guerrero Project, about the search for a sunken slave ship in the Florida Keys.
