Description

Where high school basketball is king,  We Lived The Game: Indiana Women’s Basketball gives an in-depth look at the long history of girls’ high school basketball in the state of Indiana. Through personal interviews, author, Dick Denny shares insight from more than 30 of the greatest living legends of the game and gives readers insight into the history of the sport. The book is also a great resource of stats and facts that are hard to find anywhere else. Dick Denny, a graduate from Richmond High School (Indiana), was a catcher on Duke University Blue Devils a baseball team that went to the College World Series and he earned all-intramural basketball recognition. Denny has also won four first-place awards in national bowling competitions. He earned a degree in journalism and his first job in journalism was reporting for the Muncie Star (Indiana) during the 1956 state high school basketball tournament. Following stints at the Star, the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette (Indiana), and the Chicago Tribune; Denny joined the Indianapolis News and wrote about high school sports – particularly basketball – in his Sports Den column. Denny also covered college and professional basketball, as well as hockey, tennis, and bowling in his 40 years with the News and Indianapolis Star.
