He also coached the Philadelphia 76ers, Buffalo Braves and Indiana Pacers. Before joining the ESPN staff he served as TV game analyst for the Philadelphia ’76ers and the Miami Heat. He is the author of Pressure Basketball (Prentice Hall, 1963). Dr. Neal Vahle received his doctorate from Georgetown University. He is the author of seven books, including, with Buddy Bell, Smart Baseball: How Professionals Play the Mental Game, (St. Martin’s Press, 2005).
